Staff and students are working together to create classroom environments and expectations that support the learning needs of all Grand View PS school community members.
These environments and expectations may vary a little from classroom to classroom depending on the subject matter and classroom environment, but they will all have one common expectation as part of the classroom environment going forward at Grand View PS. This expectation is the O and A (Off and Away) Policy for cell phones.
Students who bring cell phones to school based on caregiver decisions must keep their devices in their backpacks outside of the classroom. It is to remain in the backpack throughout the school day. If students need to contact their caregivers, during the school day, they must ask permission from a staff member to use the office phone.
As a school community, we are taking these steps to assist students in setting healthy boundaries in an age of digital addiction and distraction. We believe these healthy boundaries will benefit Grand View students not only within our school community but also in their lives.
